Master in theatre research

Since August 2023, Katarzyna has been pursuing an MA in Theatre (performing, directing, and dramaturgy) at the Academy of Arts (KhiO) in Oslo, Norway.

Her research delves into the concept of "LABELS" that we place on ourselves and others, focusing on diversity and inclusion. By examining labels in social, identity, professional, and private contexts, her work seeks to explore their impact on perceptions, relationships, and opportunities, fostering greater understanding and dialogue within and beyond the theatre field.

Why now?

         Katarzyna about her research:

"Modern society often fragments individuals into groups defined by labels. Language, with its immense power, assigns meaning to these labels—shaping perceptions in ways that can be positive, negative, or neutral. The interpretation of labels is deeply contextual, influenced by origins, culture, lived experiences, trauma, and subconscious biases.

Categorization highlights both the commonalities that unite individuals within a group and the differences that distinguish one group from another, often necessitating the creation of new labels. My work seeks to challenge these divisions by first emphasizing shared humanity, fostering empathy and understanding.

I am deeply committed to addressing inequalities rooted in identity, origin, or circumstance. My artistic practice focuses on leveling the playing field, advocating for inclusion, and celebrating the diversity that strengthens society. By embracing diverse perspectives, I believe we can collectively evolve, paving the way for a more just and compassionate world."
